What to do with your demo now

CDSo you’ve recorded your demo, its been put on the Myspace page and the time has come for you to get that record deal so you can afford to have a celebrity wedding and retire to LA.

There are no rules about how best to get your demo heard by record or management companies but there are some things you can try…

First of all you’ll need to get in touch with the people that matter.  There are a few website directories you could try or some books you could buy.
Try these books:

The Unsigned Guide
www.theunsignedguide.com/

The White Book
www.whitebook.co.uk/

The Music Week Directory
http://www.subscription.co.uk/home/prods.asp?m=440

you can save some cash by looking at these websites

www.rlabels.com/

or have a look at the British Library site which has some useful information
http://www.bl.uk/collections/sound-archive/record.html

Remember,

Do what you can to present you demo properly, make sure you add your contact details, where you’re from and check it for spellidng nistakes.
