Have you got a space to offer?

Space to Play is for every young musician in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.  We are looking at an age range of 14-24 yr. olds.  However we appreciate that some venues might only be able to accommodate certain age ranges.  We’re asking venues to join this scheme and specify which age ranges they can accept which we will detail on the website.

Space to Play is based around this website directory of rehearsal spaces that young people will be able to access to find what is available near them.  The scheme is free to join and will be advertised heavily amongst young people.  Venues will be able to add their details via the form below to this website, including when bands can rehearse, any age restrictions and what equipment they have available.  Musicians will then be able to see a list of all the rehearsal spaces nearby and get in touch with them directly to check availability.  The time is booked direct with the venue and is subject to their standard hire conditions.

• Space to Play can generate revenue for venues.
• Space to Play is a very easy way for venues to interact with young people.
• The rehearsal time is entirely scheduled by the venue and therefore will fit around its schedule to fill times when other users aren’t utilizing the space. 
• Young people will get to know the centre and will see advertising for other events.
• The Space to Play website will be able to advertise events encouraging even more young people through the doors.

In order to be a part of this scheme we are asking the venues to offer a minimum of 3 hours per week at a cost of £5ph for those 3 hours*.  Over and above this requirement the venues are encouraged to offer more spaces and hours subject to availability and standard hire rates.  In exchange for this Space to Play will assist venues in advertising and ongoing support.
It is also essential that the venues for rehearsal spaces have adequate child protection policies and adhere to the relevant health and safety regulations.

* If you are unable to meet these two requirements but are keen to provide rehearsal space for young bands please contact us to discuss ways in which Space to Play might be able to assist in developing creativity in young people.
